Internship Experience: How I've Grown

CPMS230

  • I am more comfortable with taking initiative and working with a virtual team consisting of people with different backgrounds and work styles

  • I am more confident in my leadership and relationship-building skills, which I can apply to any job and industry

  • I’ve also honed my oral and written communication through pitching, so now I know how to better market and condense ideas to a diversity of audiences

  • Lastly, I’ve grown thicker-skinned after trying new roles and executing ideas that don’t always work the way I want them to; coping with failure is not only part of the startup experience but also life in general.

Final Social.jpg

I included this photo of our campus team playing Code Names at our last social because it captures the wholehearted effort I put into making the most of our internship experience. This moment also represents a major improvement from the first social I hosted because I was more aware of my team’s feelings. I used to host socials without realizing that most members were burnt out, but this time I surveyed them earlier about when and what they wanted. As a result, there was a higher turnout. Most importantly, we had fun celebrating our hard work, and I realized that more than anything else I had accomplished at Dive, I was most proud of the community we helped each other build.
