In the remaining time I have at UMD, I will focus on exploring the field of accounting through my coursework and extracurriculars. After experiencing what it’s like to intern for a small startup, I want to gain exposure to the opposite side of the spectrum at a larger company as well, so I will apply to internships at the Big 4. I hope that in these pursuits, I will work with more experienced professionals who can guide me in my search for the accounting track that best suits me.

Regardless of the path I follow, I will take the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam after graduating because the certification will enable me to pursue careers in more disciplines. I aspire to work at a technology company in the D.C. area where I can marry my interests in media and corporate regulation. However, I would like to start out at a more established firm for greater stability. I would also love to travel abroad once the coronavirus pandemic subsides because there is so much I haven’t experienced yet. There are places I want to visit and cultures I want to understand, so I can’t wait for my next adventure!
